The project to decorate the Pyramides car park (1st arrondissement), put together by students at the Ecole Bleue design school in partnership with Saemes, is now complete.
In early 2019, Saemes asked students at the Ecole Bleue design school to come up with new decoration for two walls on level R-1 of the Pyramides car park. The two classes of first-year students rose to the challenge and, of the 40 projects put forward, 10 were presented to a jury in March. Three excellent projects (which you can see here) were chosen for the shortlist, with the design from Raphaëlle Abensur and Alice Marchand entitled "Nature in the City" finally being chosen for the project.
From design to completion
The students began completing their decoration with the support of their teachers and Saemes in April. It was a major challenge as it meant not only developing their design in real size taking into account the constraints of the location, such as, for example, the presence of porthole-shaped windows, but also choosing suitable material for the surroundings that would be fire and humidity-resistant. Using frescoes, they have brought the statues and trees of the Jardin de Tuileries into the car park. You can enjoy their work on your way in and out of the car park!
