The city council of Gentilly (département 94) has awarded Saemes the contract to manage on-street parking and public car parks: some 2,500 spaces.
Gentilly has opted for paid on-street parking to decongest the city, free up space for residents and facilitate access to shops.
Three on-street parking zones:
Red zone: short-stay parking to encourage the turnaround of vehicles near shops.
• Season tickets do not apply
• Half an hour free parking per day for all users.
• Parking is restricted to 2 hours at €2 per hour.
Orange zone: short- and long-stay parking to encourage turnaround near the shops and enable residents to park.
• Passes apply in this zone
• Non-season ticket holders can park for up to 2 hours at €2 per hour.
• Season ticket-holders can park in the same space for no more than 7 consecutive days
Green zone: medium- and long-stay parking (zone primarily for residents)
• Passes apply in this zone
• Non-season ticket-holders can park for up to 5 hours with a sliding scale from €2 to €1 per hour.
• Season ticket-holders can park in the same space for no more than 7 consecutive days
In the orange and green zones, the hourly rate only applies to non season ticket-holders for on-street parking and public car parks, i.e. around 2,500 spaces, under the 10-year DSP (public service delegation) contract.
