La Coméedie Francaise

Born from the fusion, in 1680, of the troupe of the Hotel de Bourgogne and the actors of Molière, it is one of the oldest theatres in the world, and probably one of those whose influence is the greatest. As a national theatre, its role is to ensure the regular representation of the main pieces of the classical repertoire. It also plays some works by contemporary playwrights, and has two other rooms: the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier (6th arrondissement) and the Studio-Théâtre (Carrousel du Louvre gallery).
