Former bell tower of the Saint-Jacques-de-la-Boucherie church (built in 1060 and demolished in 1797), the Tour Saint Jacques is the starting point for the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Located in the square that bears its name, the tower remains a symbol of medieval Paris.
