The Maillol Museum opened its doors on January 20, 1995. Dina Vierny, creator of the museum and the foundation that bears her name, was the model and collaborator of sculptor Aristide Maillol during the last ten years of the artist’s life, from 1934 to 1944. The museum now presents to the public the most important collection of works by artist Aristide Maillol and provides a complete overview of his creation in sculpture, but also in painting, drawing, terracotta and tapestry. Every year, the museum also presents two major temporary exhibitions showcasing modern and contemporary art.
