The church of the Madeleine is located on the Place de la Madeleine in the 8th arr. of Paris. It is a perfect illustration of the neoclassical architectural style.It was built over 85 years because of political unrest in France in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.The building is 108 metres long, 43 metres wide, 30 metres high and is surrounded by 52 Corinthian columns.
