Designed by the architect Carlos Ott, the Opera was inaugurated in 1989, on the occasion of the two hundredth anniversary of the storming of the Bastille. It is with the Garnier opera one of the only two rooms in Paris. The building is based on the latest technologies and thanks to its exceptional acoustics, the Opera attracts both opera lovers and the curious. It can accommodate up to 2,700 spectators in its largest hall.
